Crop tops and Dirndl skirts

Everyone needs a signature look for the summer!
Something easy to put together with separates in your wardrobe and looks great every time, even if you don't have the brain power in the morning to think up a ground breaking fashion statement!

For my summer wardrobe I like to have a good supply of crop tops and dirndl skirts on hand. Super comfortable and easy to wear for a casual look but still stylish with a vintage flair.

Topped off with a ridiculously fabulous lampshade hat and accessorised with a couple of bangles, the look is very elegant indeed.

I put this look together with garments which have appeared on my blog before, but never together.
The crop top was made from Mrs Depews Beach Bustier pattern that I reviewed HERE.
And the skirt is part of a playsuit I made for my holiday to Sicily last summer that I blogged about HERE.

I must say that I wear my clothes a lot!
I have never been one to wear a garment to one occasion and then never again. I like to wear my favourites constantly, to the point where I just don't want to ever take them off!

What's your go to summer look?

  1. So splendidly pretty! You are the absolute embodiment of cheerful summertime style here.

I have a few different go-to summertime looks, but definitely one of the ones that I sport the most often is a vintage cotton shirtwaist dress and a pretty scarf worn as a belt (or on my head - or sometimes both with two different scarves). Add a few cute accessories and flats or low heeled shoes and I'm set for a million different sunny weather activities.

Big hugs & happy weekend wishes,
    ♥ Jessica

  2. I WANT THAT HAT!!! Seriously though, you look AMAZING. I know I say that *every* blog post but only because it's always true :D This outfit is fantastic, the gardens look fantastic and so do you!

  3. Oo yes, this is just summer perfect! I don't think I have a summer wardrobe, and that does make summer dressing a little problematic for me to be honest. I do spend a lot more time in front of the wardrobe wondering what on earth to wear. I think I need to invest in more summer basics and then that will sort me out. Time to do a bit of sewing!! x

  4. I think summer is the time I experiment with outfits the most - which is the opposite to most people, but I love so many summery looks I couldn't pick a favourite :) this summer I've gotten into sundresses, but I also love my capris with a cute too and headscarf. Keeping it classic this year! I don't have any tips like yours so clear gap in my wardrobe there... This is a lovely look x

  5. Such a wonderful summer look, the hat is amazing and I love the cute crop top with the bright skirt. So pretty x
